Abstract

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic caused companies and employees alike to quickly adjust from a fully in-office modality to a completely remote work modality. Many organizations struggled to manage those changes, and the unexpected outcome that prolonged remote work has led many employees to realize they enjoy the flexibility and autonomy that comes from hybrid and remote work arrangements. As companies return to more “normal” working conditions they have to adapt to the pressures coming from the changing expectations of their workforce. This training course is designed to introduce managers to better ways of communicating with their employees to resolve issues that arise from both remote and hybrid work modalities. Each scenario demonstrates examples of real-life issues that employees have experienced in both hybrid and remote work settings. This training course will allow management and employees to feel more comfortable having open and honest conversations to efficiently resolve these issues.
