Description

This booklet contains a Latin translation and linguistic study of a subset (Chapter 44) of the medieval Ethiopian legal codex known as the Fetha Negest, or "Law of the Kings". The paper was presented to the teaching faculty at Halle-Wittenberg University on 26 May 1841 by the two authors, both of whom were Latin scholars at the Halle Orphan House (Schola Latina Orphanotrophei Halensis).

The booklet contains a title page, a three-page preface, nineteen pages of the original text in Ge'ez (Ethiopic) paired with Latin translations, a page of notes, twenty-seven pages of annotations containing comparative linguistic studies, and a summary page of the thesis.
