Abstract
When a psychologist learns of her diagnosis, a trip to see the Northern Lights becomes the setting for her journey to come to terms with illness, grapple with her desire to protect her daughter, wrestle with the faultlines in her marriage, and finally, interrogate her own stubborn refusal to ask for help.
