Abstract
In this paper, Peter Robinson, president of the U.S. Council for International Business, provides his perspective on the challenges U.S. multinationals faced in the aftermath of the global financial crisis of 2007–2008, considered by many economists to have been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. As the American affiliate of the leading international business organizations, including the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Organization of Employers, and the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD, the USCIB provides business views to policy makers and regulatory authorities worldwide.
