Abstract
This course delves deep into the pivotal roles, multifaceted opportunities, and inherent challenges faced by organizations aiming to harness business analytics as a competitive edge.
- Business Analytics Frameworks: We'll tap into various frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, Benchmarking, Kaizen, Value Chain, Balanced Scorecard, and Strategy Maps. While prior knowledge of these is not mandatory, a little research will prove invaluable when tackling class assignments.
- Project Lifecycle Management: The course draws upon CRISP-DM, Design Thinking, Story-Telling, Systems Thinking, TQM, and Agile/Kanban Methods to instill and enhance a culture of data-driven, evidence-based decision-making in an enterprise.
Prior exposure to these methodologies can be beneficial, but again, it's the eagerness to learn that will aid in mastering class exercises. Having evolved through feedback from previous cohorts, this class distinguishes itself from the traditional Baruch master’s program offerings. It is not just a theoretical read-and-recite or programming-centric course. Instead, it mirrors real-world scenarios. With over 40 years in the realm of data science and 25 years of teaching this material, I've crafted a curriculum that resonates with the actual dynamics of the corporate world.
