Abstract

This report highlights key findings from the newly released 2020 Decennial Census data for legislative redistricting. It discusses Puerto Rico’s historical population losses between 2010 and 2020 as well as the major racial identification shifts occurring in the island between 2000 and 2020. It will examine the significant racial identification shift from “One Race” to “Two Races” as well as the notable racial identification shift from “whiteness” to “some other race”.
