Abstract

This capstone project looks at how the federal government and local police forces have spied on Muslim Americans in Detroit and New York, and how the Muslim community has responded. These stories focus on what seeded distrust between law enforcement and the community and how that could change in the future. It also features some of the ways Muslim Americans are fighting back and claiming their rights as American citizens.
