Abstract
Commercial surrogacy is a growing industry. In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that by 2020, 90 percent of clinics in the country were offering gestational carrier services. In this report, several surrogate mothers speak of inefficient contracts, poor pay and lack of support, amid a landscape where business takes precedence over the treatment of women.
