Abstract

In this chapter, I describe a role-playing activity based on a script with two historical events: Booker T. Washington speech at 1895 Cotton States and International Exposition, and ruling in Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896. I also reflect on the experience, my own assumptions and expectations, and how the activity offers students opportunities for perspective transformation.
