Abstract
This research aims to explore the advancements in cloud computing and their potential influences on other technologies, and which advancements in computer networking facilitate them. These technologies are rapidly progressing in power and complexity, thereby altering how institutions and the public access information. Cloud computing provides a service that enables hardware with limited capabilities to overcome the limitations of on-device components. Due to its reliance on device connections, networking technology serves as the backbone of its operation. The research method encompasses reviewing various publications to understand how networking infrastructure facilitates cloud solutions, and how improvements in relevant hardware can expand the capabilities of cloud computing. By examining perspectives of both an ISP and an end-user, areas in need of improvement in networking can be identified. Upcoming enhancements in technologies such as fiber-optics, satellites, and the 6G standard will then be assessed to deduce how they address the respective needs of an ISP and an organization. Better coverage, bandwidth/speed, and security are all potential enhancements to cloud computing that come from innovations in network infrastructure. This research aims to assess the impacts advancements in networking will have on cloud solutions and the means by which they are deployed. Furthermore, it assesses how the integration of newer network hardware improves current usage of technologies reliant on the cloud. It's important to note that this research does not precisely predict the timeframe that noticeable advancements occur, but instead, it uses current research and developments to make educated assumptions.
