Abstract
The capstone project, Using AI as A responsible Technology – A guide to the future of work is culmination of the last 2 years while in the Masters in Corporate Communications program at Baruch College. It is a training guide framework that is built upon the current discussions on the rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the workplace in recent years and aims to help organizations bridge the real time knowledge gap that is forming between individuals who have been using GenAI already and individuals who have not yet engaged with this new technology altogether. The framework for this training guide is built upon looking into what current research has said about GenAI in the workplace and the ethical implications of using this new technology in the workplace. For communicators, the integration of their roles and the use of GenAI tools is not a question of if but when. By providing transparency and raising awareness of responsible use with these new tools it will help employees best acclimate themselves. The training guide offers modules that are interactive and provide a holistic overview on AI and GenAI, incorporating GenAI into your role, raising ethical issues when using GenAI tools, and finally practical tips to ensure users of this training guide are getting the most out of these new tools. By including metrics such as a 30-60-90 tracking completion rate and inviting employee feedback it serves to indicate that this training guide is not to remain static and rather should be seen as a launch point. To conclude, this training guide framework aims to provide organizations with a product that empowers and builds employee confidence at a time needed when we are jumping into a new digital era.
