Abstract
Gold prices triggered mining booms in Colombia, leading to wealth and mercury pollution. These effects on human health remain unknown. This research investigates the effect of gold mining finding a significant effect on fetal deaths reduction, suggesting gender and gestational age are fundamental to understanding the interplay of gold mining.
