Abstract
This thesis is a draft of a poetry manuscript, So Many Ways to Die the Butt of the Joke. The poems seek to explore a world in which the familiar is constantly on the brink of becoming strange through themes of girlhood, desire, violence, ontological anxiety, and growing up in America.
