Abstract

Tallgrass follows the Benedict family on the eve of the patriarch's retirement as leader of an insular religious community. His youngest son, previously excommunicated, has returned for the occasion while his eldest is poised to take over the community as the father's health begins to decline. When a young member of the community falls ill, it causes a clash between the three men over the capacity of faith and the limitations of belief.
