Abstract

I am interested in how the process of layering has the capacity to mimic layers of history. History is a fraught concept, subject to changes with the passage of time, hierarchies in dissemination, and differing memories. Its precarity leaves some stories immortalized and some forgotten. The acts of recording, erasing, and rerecording in my work are a mediation on this liminality.
