Abstract
The Argentinian artist Xul Solar traveled Europe from 1912-1924, where he devoured knowledge from numerous sources, infusing his artwork with his personal spiritual beliefs along the way. An examination of the materiality of the subject matter, such as the clothing and figuration of the characters, in these early works allows for a deeper understanding of the development and meaning of the artist’s vision.
