Abstract
After you, Deluge comprises seven episodes of a contemporary lyric-epic poem written over the course of two years, beginning shortly after Hurricane Helene struck western North Carolina in September 2024. Concerned with bearing witness to the disaster’s aftermath in an area once deemed a “climate haven,” After you, Deluge takes a mythic journey through the speaker’s unconscious, mining notebooks she kept when she once made a home in the area and prompting returns to those apocalyptic sites.
