Abstract
North Country Dairy is an audio documentary that explores what it means to farm in the North Country, New York’s rural frontier on the Canadian border and who is performing the labor that is behind one of the world’s most popular food sources: dairy. The piece explores my desire to understand a world and industry I was exposed to growing up but never had more than a rudimentary introduction to. I narrate this documentary as I explore my connection to my region and what is happening in the dairy industry now. Ultimately, this project seeks to explain and explore connection and labor in an increasingly globalized world.
