Abstract
WHEN WE SHAKE is an observational documentary following a daylong somatic therapy training with members of the New York City Fire Department. Through intimate images of trembling bodies, the film reframes masculinity and authority, suggesting trauma is physically carried and that beneath difference exists a drive toward relief from suffering.
