Abstract
This thesis is a study of Juan Gris’s drawings and their evolving role within his oeuvre: from his still life drawings and ongoing interest in form; his early cubist preparatory drawings; a focused series of drawings after Cézanne; and finally his post-war portraits developing to an independent practice.
