Abstract
This assignment directs students to critically examine global inequities in knowledge production by analyzing and expanding existing, underdeveloped Wikipedia articles related to special education. Structured across six phases, the project requires students to conduct a representation analysis, synthesize multilingual sources using translanguaging practices, and draft neutral, encyclopedic content in the Wikipedia Sandbox. The assignment culminates in the publication of these open knowledge artifacts on live Wikipedia pages, alongside a separate critical reflection essay exploring themes of epistemic dominance, coloniality, and how disability is constructed differently across national contexts.
