Abstract
Big Heart Cookbook: Activities to Build Belonging is a growing open educational resource (OER) showcasing engaging classroom activities—sourced from City Tech Faculty and friends—that build belonging, connection, and community in and beyond the classroom. This faculty-focused collection offers fun, reflective exercises designed to help students decompress, refocus, and engage more meaningfully with one another and the course material. Like a community cookbook, educators can browse and adapt activities to suit any classroom, regardless of discipline or teaching modality.

Comments
Funding for this OER project was provided by the CUNY OER initiative, coordinated by the Office of Library Services, which incentivizes assigning open and zero-cost course materials for students. Support for the initiative was provided by New York City College of Technology Library Department.
OER at NYCCT are housed on the City Tech OpenLab, a dynamic platform that allows faculty to easily update their course and related materials. As faculty teach with their OER, they may revise them. We recommend consulting the full OER at https://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/big-heart-cookbook
