Abstract

James Elam combines visual and aural mediums with technology to capture and manipulate sound. Here, Elam discusses how the repetitive elements in his work serve a practical purpose and add a conceptual and tactile layer to his sculptures and echo the hypnotic qualities in his DJ practice.
